I didn’t sleep so well last night, so even though I set my alarm clock for 6.30am (i.e 45 minute sleep in), I must admit that when it rang I just switched it off and went back to sleep. No strategies for dealing with that yet.
The good news is that I woke up at 7.30am, which according to my old pattern is pretty early, but now is a late lie in! Everyone else was still asleep so I managed to get 40 minutes of cardio in, by which time they were awake. I have now finished series 2 of Boston Legal, and will start on series 3 tomorrow. I do enjoy it.
I got my wife to sit down and had the kids go and prostrate themselves in front of her and give her a garland. They had also made some presents for her at school, and gave her those at the same time. You should’ve seen it. Makes me smile now as I recall it. There were tears running down her face as the kids gave her the garlands – she was really touched.
So today I’m trying to take it easy. By take it easy I mean keep to my calorie limit. My days off are the hardest to stick to the limit, as it is so tempting just to walk into the kitchen and snack, or buy something tasty if I am out. Whereas when I am at work it is much more simple to stick to a routine. So far today has been good – and I’ve even built up a bit of a calorie bank as tonight we will go to a BBQ. The other thing that can chew calories up pretty quick is alcohol. Oh well, tomorrow is cheat day so I can hold out to then!
